Hi, my name is Jarrod Willoughby. I was born on Friday 23rd January, 1976, at around 11:45pm. I celebrated my 29 birthday earlier this year. If you happen to see me you'll see a doesn't like to talk, takes his work seriously, doesn't make an issue of anything kind of person. Now the doesn't like to talk part isn't so. If you like to talk you'll realize that you have a partner in crime. I mainly a home bug if I'm not visiting friends. When I'm home I'm most likely online researching something, listening to music or listening to either The Tech Guy or an online radio station. I have been working as freelance technical operator in the operations department of TV6 for thee last 13 months. This department oversees the library and the studio. I mainly work in the studio where I work one of three positions: Camera operator {during the week}, Vcass [video cassette operator] {on weekends} and Audio Technician {when the regulars can't make it} In fact my nickname is Mercenary, for the main reason that I live about a 15 minutes away from the station, and when somebody can't make it, I'm called out. Weather it be 5am in the morning for the 6am morning show, or for the 7pm major news cast. Once called 'I'm there. I am also training to be a master control operator, which falls under the programming department. Prior to this I worked in three production houses. The first was Television Enterprises Company Limited [TVE]. This was a full service production house. It had a good sized studio with a studio control. At first I worked for the company through the national apprenticeship program for one year as a trainee production assistant. After I was brought on staff where I went from production assistant to online editor, camera operator and learned about lighting for television. After 14 months, I resigned due to things that management was doing. In April of 2000, the owners concluded the operations of the company due to mismanagement and fraud. The second was Video Professionals Limited [VP], which consisted of the technical staff of TVE, I was brought on as a production assistant and quickly ascended to camera operator and Avid editor. I was there for almost 2 years. But due to personality problems, and an job offer from another company I left. The company is still doing well. In fact, it was the operations manager for VP that recommended me to TV6 The third was Digital Age Productions Limited [DA]. This was a post production house. I was brought on as an assistant editor / editor / graphics operator. unfortunately just after the company did an upgrade of its equipment, the main customer pulled the contract, which essentially killed the company. I was out of work for about a 21 months of which I did odd jobs to pay my bills. During this time I came into a relationship a lovely lady. We even had plans to get married. But, as faith would have it, she pass away. She was my best friend and I miss her a lot, but life goes on. And I have been living life one day at a time. |
